Confirmed! This Company to Invest $4 Billion in Building the First New Electrolytic Aluminum Plant in the U.S. in 45 Years U.S. Aluminum Production Set to Double
Recently, Oklahoma welcomed a major foreign investment project—
On Thursday local time, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced that Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the world’s largest premium aluminum producer, will invest $4 billion in the state to build the first new electrolytic aluminum plant in the U.S. in 45 years. This project is seen as a critical step in localizing the supply chain for key minerals in the United States.

Project Overview: 350+ Acre Facility to Be Built at Tulsa Port of Inola
According to the plan, the new plant will be located at the Tulsa Port of Inola, covering an area of over 350 acres. Once completed, it will become the largest aluminum production facility of its kind in the U.S., primarily manufacturing aluminum billets, slabs, high-purity aluminum, and casting alloys. The plant is expected to nearly double domestic aluminum production, significantly enhancing the country’s capacity to supply critical materials.
Economic Impact: Creating Nearly 3,000 Jobs
The project is anticipated to generate substantial economic benefits: directly creating 1,000 jobs and indirectly supporting an additional 1,800 positions. It will also lay the foundation for attracting more manufacturing investments to Oklahoma. Governor Stitt emphasized in a statement: “This is a milestone in Oklahoma’s history. Our business-friendly policies have positioned the state as a leader in America’s critical minerals sector. This investment will have long-term impacts for generations to come.”
Stitt specifically noted that the project aligns closely with the Trump administration’s goals of localizing critical mineral supply chains. He stated: “As the U.S. works to bring key industries back home, Oklahoma is leading the charge through action. We are confident in becoming a central hub for America’s critical minerals.”
In recent years, the U.S. government has actively promoted “manufacturing reshoring” policies. Aluminum, as a core material for strategic industries like aerospace and automotive manufacturing, has drawn significant attention to its supply chain security. EGA’s investment is viewed as a response to U.S. policy priorities and sets a precedent for manufacturing upgrades in Oklahoma and across the nation.
