Indian Aluminum Giant: Investing 12.5 Billion Yuan To Expand Aluminum Production Capacity!

Indian aluminum giant Hindalco has announced an investment of INR 150 billion (approximately RMB 12.5 billion) in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh to expand the aluminum smelting capacity of its existing and new factories.
Satish Pai, Managing Director of Hindalco, said in an interview with ANI, "We will invest only about INR 150 billion in Hindalco over the next two years. The group will also develop a large mining site called Banda
Hindalco has an advanced aluminum manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh, India, with a pre investment of 250 billion rupees (approximately 3.01 billion US dollars) in its aluminum smelter located in Mahan.
Mahan Aluminum is located in Bargawan, Singrauli District, Madhya Pradesh. It is a comprehensive aluminum smelter that includes an annual production capacity of 359000 tons and a 900 MW power plant. The new investment aims to further enhance the company's operational capabilities and promote local economic development.
In a relatively short period of time, Mahan Aluminum has become the preferred choice for many customers in the global primary aluminum industry. More than 40% of its total production is exported to multiple countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and Israel.
Pai also emphasized the impact of global trade policies on Hindalco's business, particularly in the United States: "Hindalco has a very large subsidiary in the United States called Novelis. Therefore, for the entire Hindalco group, we believe that these tariff policies are neutral or even beneficial, as our US subsidiary benefits, while Hindalco in India does not actually export aluminum to the United States. Therefore, for us, our perspective is neutral or even positive
The Indian Madhya Pradesh government welcomes Hindalco's investment as a crucial step in consolidating the state's position as an important hub for aluminum production and industrial development. This expansion is expected to create a large number of job opportunities and drive economic growth in the region.
