On November 28th, foreign media reported that Norsk Hydro, one of the world's largest aluminum companies, has recently signed an important agreement with Sanvira Tech LLC to ensure that Oman continues to supply anode carbon blocks to its Norwegian aluminum smelter. This collaboration will account for 25% of the total annual usage of approximately 600000 tons of anode carbon blocks at the Heidelberg Norwegian smelter.

According to the agreement, the initial purchase period is 8 years, and can be extended if needed by both parties. These anode carbon blocks will be produced by Sanvira's anode factory in Oman, which is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025. After the factory is completed, it is expected to begin receiving certification and performance testing from Heidelberg in the second quarter of 2025.

Anode carbon blocks are important raw materials for aluminum smelters and play a crucial role in the production process of aluminum. The signing of this agreement not only ensures the supply of anode carbon blocks for the Heidelberg Norwegian smelter, but also further consolidates its position in the global aluminum market.

This cooperation has provided reliable supply chain support for Hydro and also helped Sanvira expand its production scale at its anode factory in Oman. For the entire aluminum industry, this cooperation will promote the optimization of resource allocation, improve production efficiency, and further promote the healthy development of the global aluminum market.
