Tsingshan Invests $3B in Indonesia Aluminum, Middle East Crisis Lifts Global Aluminum Price Outlook
China’s Tsingshan Holding Group is planning to build a largescale aluminum smelter in the Weda Bay Industrial Park, North Maluku, Indonesia, with a total investment of US$3 billion (approx. RMB 21.7 billion). The project will have an annual capacity of 800,000 tonnes, to be built in two equal phases, and is expected to start production in about two years, becoming a landmark capacity expansion in Indonesia’s aluminum industry.

Alcoa Plans to Invest $100 Million to Restart Fourth Production Line
Foreign media reported that Alcoa Corporation is evaluating the feasibility of restarting the fourth production line at its Warwick aluminum smelter, a project expected to require an investment of $100 million. The plant currently operates three production lines, and the addition of the fourth line is projected to boost annual capacity by approximately 50,000 metric tons.
