Nanshan Indonesia Bintan Industrial Park under construction

According to industry and online public information, there are currently 5 electrolytic aluminum plants in Southeast Asia that China will build, with a total electrolytic aluminum production capacity of 7 million tons. The main sources of information are:

1. The overall design scale of Nanshan Aluminum in Indonesia is to produce 2 million tons of alumina per year, 1 million tons of electrolytic aluminum (long-term), a self owned power plant with a total installed capacity of 2860MW, and a self owned port with an annual throughput of 20 million tons, in order to rebuild a complete aluminum industry chain in Indonesia. The first phase of the 1 million ton alumina project is currently under comprehensive construction and will be put into operation by the end of 2020.

2. Bosai Minerals Group will build a 2 million ton alumina plant, a 1 million ton electrolytic aluminum plant, and a 1 million ton manganese iron alloy plant in Malaysia in 2022;

Bosai Mining's 17.5 billion yuan "Coking Aluminum Manganese" project is planned to commence construction in the Malaysia China Guandan Industrial Park in 2022

3. The Huafeng Group Indonesia Huaqing Aluminum Industry Aluminum and Electricity Integration Project has completed the first phase of 1 million tons/year electrolytic aluminum (500kA) construction in Qingshan Industrial Park, Indonesia;

4. Zhejiang Huayou Holding Group will also plan to build electrolytic aluminum, alumina, carbon plants, etc. in Indonesia, with a possible scale of 2 million tons of electrolytic aluminum.

5. Zhongfang Lygend Company will cooperate with two Indonesian investors and plan to build an electrolytic aluminum plant in North Canada, Indonesia. It will be put into operation in early 2024, with a scale of 2 million tons and the first phase of 500000 tons. The electrolytic cell adopts a 500KA cell from Shenyang Institute, supporting power plants, carbon plants, and docks.
